Matted Coats. Foxy Groomers have a Matted Dog Shave Off policy, that can be found at the bottom of the Services page.
Flea, Lice and Ticks. Foxy Groomers have a Flea, Lice and Tick policy, that can be found at the bottom of the Services page.
Toileting. Please ensure that your pet has been to the toilet before your appointment with Foxy Groomers, to avoid any accidents whilst being groomed.
Vaccinations. Veterinary advice is that your dog is fully vaccinated and kept up to date. It is entirely at the owner's risk if your dog is not vaccinated, or do not receive their boosters. Foxy Groomers cannot be held liable if your dog catches something, that a vaccination could prevent. If you have fully vaccinated your dog, please have their vaccination record available for verification, on the first visit.
Sedated dogs. Foxy Groomers will not accept dogs that are under sedation for grooming under any circumstances.
Pregnant dogs. Unfortunately Foxy Groomers cannot accept bitches that are pregnant. The stress of being groomed could induce a premature labour.
Nursing bitches. Please wait until puppies have been weaned from their mum, before booking in for a groom.
Elderly dogs. Grooming elderly dogs is at the owner's risk. If the groom is required to stop at any point before completion, full payment for the appointment will still be payable.
Aggressive, stressed and poorly socialised dogs. Foxy Groomers reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog if we believe it may cause injury to itself or its groomer. You must inform Foxy Groomers, prior to grooming, if your dog has ever been aggressive or bitten either another animal or a human. Your attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, which holds the owners liable for bites and injuries. A muzzle may be used if we are aware in advance.
If the groom can not continue due to your dog exhibiting aggression, stress or behaviour we have not been informed of prior to the groom, the full grooming charge will apply. Foxy Groomers does not use any force towards a dog, just so the groom can be finished.
Pre-existing conditions. Foxy Groomers may uncover evidence of a health issue while grooming your pet and while we cannot diagnose any conditions, we can advise you further of some recommended actions, e.g. visit to the vet.
Photographs. We take photos of each dog before, during and after the groom, which we keep on file to assist us in future grooms. We may use some photos in advertising our service and/or post to our social media sites. Most clients enjoy seeing their pet featured. Please let us know beforehand if you do not wish your pet's photos to be made public.
Pet Records. Please provide a thorough account of any health issues, allergies or behavioural challenges appertaining to your dog. These notes are very valuable to us, to give us a clear picture of the background before we begin to groom.
Payment. Payment in full, will be due at the end of the groom, by cash or bank transfer. Any quote given before the groom is an estimate and your dog’s groom may be more expensive, dependant on coat condition and temperament/difficulty to groom.
Alterations. We groom each dog to the owner's specifications, as far as the dog will tolerate and the coat condition and type allows. We will always place a dog's welfare, safety and peace of mind above adherence to a particular style. In case of being unable, for any reason to groom to the exact style wished by the owner, we will endeavour to contact the owner and agree upon a suitable alternative style.
If, after the groom is complete, there is anything about the groom that you would like altered, please advise your groomer accordingly before we leave your premises. Foxy Groomers are never offended by timely requests to make 'minor' changes, so please ask.
Cancellations. Foxy Groomers appreciate that sometimes you may need to rearrange your dog's appointment. As long as this is done more than 48 hours notice, there will be no charge. Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice (except in extreme circumstances) will result in the full fee payable. No further appointments will be booked until the account is settled. Cancellations between 24-48 hours notice will be charged at 50% of the groom price. It is the owners responsibility to keep a note of the next appointment date, however Foxy Groomers will text a reminder the day before the groom.
Parking and use of electricity. You, the client, are responsible for ensuring there is ample space to park, on a flat piece of land for the Foxy Groomers mobile salon, as close to your premises as possible, to enable a 10m hook up cable to reach an electricity source. You will be responsible for any parking fines that may occur during the grooming appointment.
The Foxy Groomer van needs a height clearance of 3m, from overhanging trees. Please check and advise if there is an issue with height clearance, as we can look at alternatives.
